Welcome to the DynPagePlus projects
The DynPagePlus framework is an initiative to make life easier for the HTMLB DynPage developer. The framwork is meant to be very lightweight and easy to setup. In fact all you have to do is add the DynPagePlus.jar file to your PORTAL-INF/private/lib folder.
Currently the released version is 1.0 which it's a highly stable working version of the framework, and is the final 1.0 release.
See our Tutorial for a quick intro to the framework and/or take a glace on the javadocs for complete insight in the framework.
What is happening?
Well, the project is not dead, however we have not been able to make significant progress in the past few months. However, version 1.1 is beginning to take form and should be release before the summer holiday (Danish summer holiday that is).
Some of the features of the next version are:
- RFC and JDBC adapter, we'll try to add some automation to calling RFCs as well as JDBC.
- JDBC Utils, create a TableViewModel or a IListModel from a SQL expression.
- Added Validators class for swift serverside validation of numbers, email, and regexp.
- And of course there are a few error fixes as well.
So you'll have to wait in exitment, but not too long now.
We're currently also working on some video based tutorials. First the big get to know the framework tutorial, and then some smaller in depth tutorials covering only one or two small parts of the framework.
Version 1.0 released
Now it's here, just in time for X-mas :-) Well, we decided to release DynPagePlus now since it has been stable for some time now and it contains all desired features for the framework. You can download the framework via SourceForges download page. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=141989
This means, of course, that we also have to rework the tutorial and other documentation stuff. We'll of course appreciate any help. Some new stuff for this release:
- Added talk-back to the user through the MessageBox component. Meant to be used for communication error messages when implementing server-side validation.
- Added some more convenience methods to the Face class, including buttons and drop-down list.
- Corrected all the errors related to the use of DefaultDataBean. The DefaultDataBean is currently working rather well, so there's no real reason for using custom data beans anymore.
Marry X-mas everyone.
